"The mystery of life is that it is celebrated only when one is ordinary, although a majority of humanity is in the race to prove itself exceptional."– ‘Dhyanshree’ Shailesh
‘Dhyanshree’ Shailesh or Mahamandleshwar Shaileshanand Giri is not your typical Swamiji, wearing a formidable expression and preaching from religious textbooks. A young seer educated in a convent school, he talks about the practical application of religion in one’s daily life. An all-rounded personality who plays the guitar and loves music, he has been a student leader at Vikram University, a spokesperson of the State Youth Congress, has played cricket as well as acted in plays in his youth before turning to spirituality. He emphasizes the importance of performing one’s duty, irrespective of one’s path in life. His widespread campain, ‘Kartavya Kranti’ or ‘Duty Revolution,’ aims to revolutionize society by urging people, especially the Gen Next, to focus on their duties, rather than rights. Guruji had joined the Sadbhavana Mission in 2002 with the late veteran actor-turned-MP Shri Sunil Dutt. His message of harmony and mission of world peace has been appreciated by people everywhere.
The Shant Advait Ashram set up by him sees people of all nationalities visiting and staying at the Ashram, to get a perfect vision of humanity and its religious and spiritual evolution. The flags of the Boddha religion (Buddhism) that were installed by Lama Paljor on his visit to the Ashram are a testimony of Guruji’s belief in the oneness of all religions and his philosophy of ‘One God – many paths.’ An ardent nature lover, Guruji has taken great efforts to promote water conservation. He also espouses the cause of women’s rights and gender equality. He is the Chief of Mahayog India Foundation, New Delhi. He continues to inspire the youth of today through his efforts to bring about a positive change in society, despite having renounced it.
